New Car
October 13, 2004
First off… as you can see, I decided to change the way this page is laid out. For the past 2 months I’ve had the same work, school, sleep, drive routine day after day… I think you all get the picture. The way I am going to start doing things now is, when something INTERESTING happens… then I’ll write it on this page, rather than writing down the same boring stuff that happens every day. But I MUST lay out some ground rules… First, I am not the best writer in the world, It takes me about 10 minutes to knock out a little paragraph like this one, however if I had to make it grammatically correct it would take me an hour and a half… what does this mean to you? It means that you will more than likely be seeing more commas in a single sentence than ever before in your life, It means that some sentences may begin with the word “but” and it means that some sentences will be WAY too long. Second ground rule, um… yea, there is only the one rule (did you notice how after I realized there would only be one rule that I didn’t go reconstruct the paragraph to accommodate only one rule, how I just left it how I typed it… That’s the quality of reporting you can expect from here on out.)
ANYWAY, here’s the scoop, the clutch on my old car was so rough that it was really hard to drive, a new clutch would of cost $200+labor and I’d still have the same old car. So I decided to start looking for a new car, after about a month of looking I found a really good deal on a 2001 Saturn SL for $4600 that resided in Minneapolis… or so the webpage said. When I called the guy to ask some questions about the car I found out that it used to be in Minneapolis but they drove it to their new house in New York. No one in New York wanted to buy it because of the cost of transferring a Minnesota title. and no one in Minnesota would be crazy enough to drive all the way to New York for a car, right? Hahahaha, Wrong. I told him if he knocked $500 off the price of the car I’d come and get it, he agreed so I started planning. turns out the cheapest way to get there was a rental car, but you’ve got to be 21 to rent/drive a rental car, so dad volunteered to go with. anyway, got there found three things wrong with the car, called the guy back up, and he knocked another $100 off the price. All in all it cost $400 to go to/come back from New York, So really I only saved $200 off the cost of the car, However, it is blue booked at $6000 so REALLY I saved $2000 compared to all the other Saturn’s for sale. Its a great car… Here are some pictures
